What would happen if the economy was manipulated in a way that eliminated all existing debt (reset button??)?

I inspire economists to teach me upon this one, as we am not clever in a field. However, greatfully teach upon what competence occur if a manage to acquire were to simply erase or cringe in a little demeanour all existent debt?
